Adult Classes

Registration begins Monday, September 13, 2010

*All fees are payable to Instructors

 

 

 

Tai Chi (8 weeks)

Improve your circulation while strengthening your muscles in an unstrained yet effective way.

When: Tuesday Mornings 9:30-10:30

Fee: $40.00 for residents, $60.00 for non-residents

Classes begin Tuesday September 28, 2010

 

Dancersize                                 

Dance your heart out to some great music while getting a workout too!!!  Let’s have some fun and meet new people.  Wear clothes you can move in, socks, and sneakers.  Bring a Yoga mat if you have one.

When: Tuesday Mornings - 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

Cost: $60.00 for eight week session, $80.00 for non-residents

 

Ballroom Dancing (8 Weeks)               

These classes will teach you the basics in ballroom dancing while learning agility and movement.

When: Monday Evenings 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Fee: $65.00 for residents $85.00 for non-residents

Art Classes For Adults (8 Weeks)

Learn the basics of drawing and watercolor technique. Beginners will learn all they need to know to complete landscape and a watercolor still-life, while intermediate artist can brush up on their basic skills while producing two or more watercolor paintings

When: Wednesday evenings 7:30-8:45 p.m.

Fee: $60.00 for residents; $80 for non-resident

Materials fees to be discussed at first class. Early registration is required, space is limited.

Beginning October 6th, 2010

 

Learn to speak Italian (8 weeks)

This class is for people who have elementary knowledge of the Italian language.  Concentration is on basic conversation and grammar drills.

When: Tuesday evenings 7:30-9:00 p.m.

Fee: $75.00 for residents, $90.00 for non-residents

Classes begin Tuesday October 5th, 2010

 

English as a Second Language

Beginner to Intermediate levels (8 weeks)

We will be using conversation to learn English in a friendly relaxed atmosphere. Listening, speaking, reading, and writing are also a part of the class. A good start to learning the basics of the English Language

When: Saturday Mornings 9:00-10:00 a.m.

Fee: $ 60.00 for residents $80.00 for non residents

Classes begin on Saturday, September 25th, 2010

 

Knitting for Adults (8 weeks)

Learn to create beautiful gifts and items you will love to wear.

When: Monday Evenings 7:00-8:30 p.m.

Fee: $45.00 for residents, $60.00 for non-residents

*Materials are an additional fee.  Classes begin on Monday, September 27th, 2010

 

Wellness Classes

Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired?  These practical workshops will teach you how to eat better and become healthier.  Tips will be given for curbing cravings, shedding some weight, feeling better and having more energy.

When: 1st Saturday & 3rd Saturday of the month beginning Oct. 2, 2010, ending Saturday, November 20, 2010.

Time: 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.

Cost: $50.00 for eight consecutive classes, $70.00 for non-residents

 

Laughter Yoga

Laughter makes us feel good.  When we laugh, our bodies releases chemicals that have positive effects on our system.  Stress is reduced, blood pressure drops, depression is lifted, immune system is boosted, and more.  Come have fun and learn to laugh for no reason!!!

When: 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month beginning October 2, 2010, ending Saturday, November 27, 2010

Time: 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.

Cost: $30.00 for eight consecutive weeks, $50.00 for non-residents

 

Yoga

Learn how to improve your health and manage stress.  Restore your balance and sense of harmony.  Each session includes yoga postures, breathing exercises, chanting, self-massage, relaxation and meditation. All levels are welcome.

When: Monday and Thursday Evenings

Time: 7:30-9:00 p.m.

Cost: $50.00 for Monday or Thursday

$100.00 for both days (8 week session) $20.00 additional fee for non-residents

 

Card Making & Arts and Crafts Classes

Enjoy making personalized cards for all occasions and crafts that you’ll want to give as gifts!

Movies

Enjoy some of films greatest achievements in a beautiful theater and learn about the stars and making of each movie by the presenter.

Walking for Health

(Ongoing)

When: Monday Mornings 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

Get together with an out-going group of adults for a walk around our beautiful track along the Hudson, and then relax with light refreshments.

Blood Pressure Screening

When: 1st, 2nd, and 4th Wednesday of the month.

Time: 9:00 a.m.- 12:00  p.m. &   2:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.                           

Where: Office of the Public Health Nurse

 

Yoga             

On-going classes

Enjoy free instruction while learning to relax; build strength and flexibility.

When: Wednesday mornings 9:30-11:00 a.m.

Thursday mornings 9:15-10:15 a.m.

$20 fee for non-residents (for each 8 week session)

 

Sahaja Meditation  (8 weeks)

Morning Sahaja Meditation is an exercise which involves sitting in a chair and working with the energy within you. It is a healing, loving energy which helps us relax and be in peace.

When: Thursday Mornings 11:00 a.m.-11:45 a.m. ~Beginners

Beginning September 30, 2010 (Free class to residents, $20.00 fee each session for non-residents)

This class is taught by a retired certified teacher who has been teaching meditation for 23 years.

Clinton, New Jersey

 

Clinton is nestled in the hills of Hunterdon County,  New Jersey

It is the quintessential American small town with lots to see and do.  We’ll visit Clinton’s landmark Red Mill Museum Village. Then take a stroll across the old truss bridge to the Hunterdon Historical Museum (optional), or walk along beautiful Main St. with its shops, cafés and antique stores. Afterwards your can do a wine tasting at Ballic Wines and then we’ll enjoy a casual lunch at Dora’s Italian Restaurant (BYOB).

Departing: The Community Center at 8:30 a.m.

Returning: 5:00 p.m.

Cost:$28.00 per person (cash only) which includes round trip bus transportation,

admission and guided tour of the Red Mill Museum and lunch.
