DPW & RECYCLING   The Edgewater Department of Public works collects recycling (click here for schedule), white goods, and yard waste. Yard waste and white goods are picked up by appointment only. In addition, they are responsible for park maintenance, leaf and snow removal, and countless other duties to keep Edgewater looking its best. Garbage is collected by an outside contractor on the following days, (click here for schedule) Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Garbage should be placed on the curb after 8pm on the night before collection. Click here for garbage schedule. Emergencies such as sewer back-ups or fallen trees should be reported to the Edgewater Police Department at (201)-943-2200. The Department of Public Works and Recycling Department are located at 540 River Rd. Directly across from the Edgewater Golf Range. Recycling bins can be picked up at the above location between the hours of 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM. There is no charge for these bins. Recyclables, such as paper, junk mail and co-mingled can be dropped of at the above address seven days a week. REMEMBER NO PLASTIC OR PAPER BAGS. White Goods should be dropped off Monday thru Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
