Notice to Bidders

Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Edgewater, Bergen County, New Jersey, in the Office of the Borough Clerk in the Municipal Building, 916 River Road, Edgewater, New Jersey, on Thursday, September 4, 2008 at 10:30 AM, Local Prevailing Time for the acquisition of two (2) Adult Mini Buses, 16 Ambulatory with 2 Wheelchairs or 20 Ambulatory.

Specifications for the equipment can be secured by prospective bidders at the Office of the Borough Clerk between the hours of 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon and 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays (Labor Day). The Borough reserves the right to examine all Bid documents and if not satisfied with sufficiency thereof, to reject any and all bids for any cause whatsoever.

Each proposal must be placed in one (1) sealed envelope, addressed to the Borough Clerk, Municipal Building, Room 300, Edgewater, New Jersey with the name and address of the bidder and the words “BID FOR: Two (2) Adult Mini Buses, 16 Ambulatory with 2 Wheelchairs or 20 Ambulatory" clearly printed thereon, together with either a certified check, cashier's check, or a Bid Bond payable to the Borough of Edgewater from an approved surety company, licensed to conduct business in the state of New Jersey, with a rating of at least "A", for ten (10) percent of the amount of the bid provided said check or Bid Bond need not be more than $20,000.00.

Bid proposals may be delivered by mail or in person to the office of the Borough Clerk, Municipal Building, Room 300, 916 River Road, Edgewater, New Jersey, during regular business hours before the date and time specified for receiving bids. All such bid proposals will be accepted at the sole risk of the bidder.

Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of P.L. 1975, c. 127 and Affirmative Action and Executive Order 11246 regarding equal employment opportunity, as amended, N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq., and the Local Public Contracts Law, N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1, et seq.

Bidders which are corporations not incorporated in the State of New Jersey must furnish with their bid a certification by the Secretary of the State of New Jersey that they are authorized to do business in the State. Additionally, each bidder must include proof of it's own business registration and proofs of business registration of those subcontractors required to be listed in the Bidders submission (i.e. "named subcontractors"). The proof of business registration shall be provided at the time the bid is officially received and opened by the Borough of Edgewater (P.L. 2004, c. 57, N.J.S.A. 52:32-44).

All bids are subject to the requirements of all laws and regulations affecting the same.

DEPUTY MUNICIPAL CLERK –  RMC certification required.  Full-time position.  Duties include, but are not limited to, all licensing, voter registration/elections, record retention/disposal, OPRA, bids, preparation for meetings, drafting correspondence and proclamations and attending meetings when necessary.  Must be computer literate, strong organ'l  & writing skills required. The Borough is accepting applications for School Crossing Guards. All applications received will be date-stamped and placed on a list in the order they were received.  Applications may be picked up at the Borough Clerk’s office, Municipal Building, 916 River Road, third floor, Monday through Friday, between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM.  EOE
