 The Edgewater Municipal Court is responsible for the prosecution, trial and disposition of motor vehicle
and traffic violations, disorderly/petty disorderly offenses, Borough ordinances and code violations, fish and game
violations and weights and measures violations and conducts probable cause hearings.
The Municipal Court also determines bail, issues Temporary Restraining Orders for Domestic Violence
incidents, issues arrest and search warrants, failure to appear, propose suspension and suspension notices.
More serious criminal offenses, known as indictable offenses, will be sent to the Bergen County
Prosecutors Office in Hackensack.
