EDGEWATER – “A Great Place to Live” by Gregory S. Franz – Borough Administrator
NEW 2020 RESIDENT PARKING PROGRAM
REGISTRATION WILL BE COMPLETED IN FOUR SECTIONS; NOVEMBER – SECTION 1 Fort Lee border to Glenwood Avenue, DECEMBER – SECTION 2 Glenwood Avenue to Hilliard Avenue, JANUARY – SECTION 3 Hilliard Avenue to Archer Street, FEBRUARY – SECTION 4 Archer Street to North Bergen border
On November 1, 2019, the Borough of Edgewater opened our on-line registration portal for the new resident parking permit system available on our web site at www.edgewaternj.org. We have divided the town into four sections with each section assigned a registration month, Section I was assigned the month of November from the Fort Lee border south to Glenwood Avenue and we are now notifying residents in Section II from Glenwood Avenue to Hilliard Avenue, both sides. Residents will need to fill out the on line form and scan all supporting documentation such as New Jersey driver’s license, vehicle registration, and proof of residency in the form of a lease agreement, property deed, along with a utility bill with matching name and address. Once registration is approved, your vehicle license plate becomes your permit. However, in the first year of implementation and possibly succeeding years, you will also be provided a decal, similar to what is provided with the current system. When you have a short term visitor (7 days or less) who will need to park their car whether it’s for a one evening dinner or a week of vacation, registration is easily completed on line 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Section 1 and 2 residents who need in person support can visit Borough Hall on Saturday December 7th from 10am to 1pm and again on Tuesday December 10 from 5pm to 8pm. The Borough will hold special registration periods for businesses at a later date.
