The Borough is pleased to announce free COVID testing to all Edgewater residents on Thursday June 11 from 10am to 2:30pm at Veterans Field, 1165 River Road. The testing is in cooperation with the County of Bergen and New Bridge Medical Center. Saliva Covid tests will be performed, refrain from eating, drinking, smoking, or chewing gum 30 minutes prior to your arrival. Antibody testing will be performed only on those who have previously tested positive with a copy of your test results. All residents must bring either their driver’s license, social security card, passport, or birth certificate, and provide proof of Bergen County residency in the form of a lease, driver’s license, or utility bill. For those residents with medical insurance coverage, please bring your insurance card.
Unfortunately, due to the difficulty in maintaining public health standards our Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks along with our Summer Camp Program is cancelled. Our Library and Recreation Department are, and will be developing more virtual activities for all age groups so please check these web sites and social media for information. We are hopeful as time goes on throughout the summer, we may be able to organize our summer concerts and volleyball events.
All athletic fields, courts, playgrounds, and exercise stations remain closed. No organized or contact sports are permitted.
On June 15, all restaurants will be permitted to provide outdoor seating maintaining all health standard requirements. Restaurants will be receiving a letter from the Borough providing guidance on regulations for both outdoor seating and outdoor alcohol consumption. Also on June 15, all non-essential retail businesses may open to the public providing all health standards are maintained.
On June 22, personal care businesses such as nail and hair salons may re-open as long as all health standards are maintained.
Please be cognizant of how we walk, run, and ride on our walkways and sidewalks, maintain social distancing, please announce yourself as you are approaching others, do not just walk into someone’s space. Please stay to the right.
