Important message from the Edgewater Office of Emergency Management for 2/22-23rd!

This is a message from the Edgewater Office of Emergency Management with important snow information for Sunday February 22 to Monday February 23, an estimated 10 to 15 inches of snow is expected between Sunday and Monday, as a result, trash and cardboard recycling collection have been cancelled for Monday February 23, trash collection will resume Wednesday February 25, and cardboard recycling will resume the following week.  Edgewater Ferry Shuttle Buses for Monday February 23 are cancelled however, New York Waterway ferries will operate.  Chapter 380 of the Borough Code requires all property owners to remove snow and ice from sidewalks within 24 hours of the snow stopping, it is your responsibility as a property owner or manager to ensure snow and ice removal in a timely manner or you will be issued a summons.  Do not plow or shovel snow into the street, use the area between the curb and sidewalk and try not to clear your driveway apron until after the plows have cleared snow, place snow on the lower portion of your apron so the plow does not push snow back into your driveway.  If you live near a fire hydrant, please clear the snow from around the hydrant.  After snow plowing is finished on Monday, crews will begin snow removal requiring the removal of vehicles from streets and roads, monitor emergency no parking signs and reverse messaging or cars not moved will be towed.  The storm will affect New Jersey Transit Bus schedules, be sure to monitor apps and social media, service is not guaranteed so plan accordingly.  Do not drive or walk during the storm for your safety and remember to clear snow from your walks and pick up the dog poop, thank you.
