National Weather Service Issues Winter Storm Warning for Western Bergen County from 1AM Tuesday to 6PM Tuesday

Precipitation will start as rain late this evening before switching over to snow in the early morning hours. Snow continues through late afternoon Tuesday. The heaviest period of snow will be Tuesday morning between 5am and 10am. The morning commute will be slippery and hazardous.

Total snow accumulation is expected to average 3 – 6 inches around the County. Locally higher amounts of up to 8 inches is possible for the Northwestern section of the County, at the highest elevations (North of RT 4, West of the Garden State Parkway). This will be a heavy wet snow.

Slight changes in intensity or track could raise or lower snow amounts as the storm approaches.

Temperatures will remain in the mid 30’s throughout the storm.

Winds will be 10 - 15 MPH with gusts up to 25 MPH.

Minor tidal flooding is possible, at high tide, for the Southern end of the Hackensack River.
